Meet the designers: Andy Davis
What’s important when designing kitchens:
- Function
- Intended client use
- Visual interest created by textures, styles and colors
“The foundation to my design philosophy is "Form Follows Function". Not as dogmatic as the architect Louis Sullivan who popularized the statement, but as a sound starting point for kitchen design. A kitchen should work well first and look good second. I design with input from my client to insure the space works for the way they use it, then we tweak it with ornamentation that reflects the client’s taste.”
Design Philosophy: Stain/glaze cabinetry with custom designed mantle over cooktop. Decorative design took into account complications of appliance details and how space was to be used.
